I forget how much I love apple butter. Comforting, versatile, all ages love it. And it’s very simple to pull together.
Apple butter complements biscuits, oatmeal, pork chops … the list goes on. So, if you’re looking for a quick, small batch of apple butter, be sure to save this.
Small Batch Apple Butter
Ingredients:
3 apples (I used honeycrisp)
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Peel and cube three apples.
- Add apples, spices, sugars, salt and vinegar to a pot on the stove.
- On medium-low heat, let apples simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the apples become tender, blend the mixture. I used an immersion blender but a blender or food mill will work too.
- Put it in a jar and let it cool before you enjoy it!
