Crescent rolls serve as the ultimate quick dinner hack for our family. To make the crescent rolls stretch a bit, I prepare mini pigs in blanket. The piggies are so popular, the kids keep asking for them, and they are extremely easy to make.
I used lil smokies, and I cut the crescent dough into smaller triangles. Each roll of 8 can make 32 small piggies in a blanket, which means kiddo lunches for the next day are done and done!
Mini Pigs in a Blanket
Ingredients:
1 tube of crescent rolls; pack of 8
1 package of lil smokies
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit.
- Pop the tube and roll out the crescent rolls on a cutting board. Cut to divide each triangle into two triangles. See image for how I cut them.
- Roll the lil smokies and place on the lined cookie tray.
- Pop in the oven and cook for 10-15 minutes.
We serve with a variety of condiments. The kiddos love this because it allows for customization on the plate. One LOVES spice while the other enjoys ketchup or barbecue.
