3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

I remember a Girl Scouts field trip where we learned how to make the simplest peanut butter cookies. If I think about it, I recall the field trip was to the local electric and/or gas company – one of them, I’m not sure which – and the instructors taught us how to use the oven and stove, how it heated up, and systems within the machine. The easiest way to learn about this was to pair the knowledge with cooking/baking. Enter stage left: 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies. Still a household favorite, and these cookies come together in less than 15 minutes.

3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 egg
1 cup sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit.
  2. Combine sugar, egg and peanut butter in a medium bowl.
  3. Spray a tablespoon with cooking oil and lightly drop a tablespoon of the dough on a lined baking sheet. Place about 2 inches apart. These will spread!
  4. Spray back of a fork and push down to make the classic cross work on the top of the cookie.
  5. Place tray in oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. Cookies will be soft when they come out of the oven.
  6. Let the cookies cool completely before handling.
