Homemade Basil Pesto Sauce

I’m getting a head start on planning Spring and Summer favorites … like this homemade basil pesto sauce. One of my favorite sandwiches is tomato, mozzarella and pesto. The secret is the ratio of pesto sauce to the rest of the sandwich. In my book, we measure with our heart and are never afraid of “too much”. Doesn’t exist.

Here’s a quick recipe for homemade pesto you will absolutely love and revisit for years to come.

Homemade Basil Pesto Sauce

Ingredients:

2 cups fresh basil
1/3 cup pine nuts
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
3 garlic cloves
1/2 cup olive oil
Salt
Pepper

Instructions:

  1. Pulse the basil and pine nuts in a blender or food processor.
  2. To the basil and pine nuts, add and pulse cheese and garlic.
  3. Turn blender/food processor on low and stream in olive oil.
