These quick, no chill sugar cookies are extremely chill. Easy to make with kiddos during the holiday season or to just have on hand for any other time during the year! Save this one.
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 egg
I tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Blend together the sugar and butter in a standing mixer.
3. Add egg and vanilla to sugar/butter.
4. Add in flour and baking powder
5. Mix until just combined and roll out on lightly-floured surface.
6. Roll to 1/4 thickness or so and cut out shapes. Place on parchment-lined baking sheets.
7. Bake for 10 min. Remove and let cool completely before decorating.
Fun tip: I did a double-bake. I pulled this out at 10, let cool and then baked again for 5. Still soft but exterior seemed a bit nicer for icing
